Das „Concertino für Posaune und Blasorchester“ entstand als Auftragswerk für die Eröffnung der Festwochen in Stockerau (Österreich). Das Werk ist dem Solisten der Uraufführung, Heinrich Huber, Soloposaunist des Basler Sinfonie-Orchesters, gewidmet. Die drei Sätze mit den Bezeichnungen CAPRICCE, SIZILIANA, BURLESKE stellen unterschiedliche Charaktere des Solo-Instruments vor. So legt der 1. Satz besonderen Wert auf die technische Versiertheit des Solisten, der 2. Satz zeigt die lyrische Seite und der 3. Satz die rhythmisch-kecke Seite der Posaune. Die Komposition ist gänzlich in gemäßigt-modernem Stil gehalten, überfordert also weder die begleitenden Musiker/innen noch die Zuhörer in Ihrem Verständnis. Die Begleitung ist grundsätzlich zurück zu nehmen, damit der Posaunist mit schönem Ton vortragen kann und nirgends die Lautstärke forcieren muss. Das gilt insbesondere für den 1. Satz, der auch einige atemtechnische Anforderungen an den Solisten stellt. Eine Aufführung ohne Oboe, Fagott, Bassklarinette und Saxofonsatz ist möglich.






The „Concertino for Trombone“ was a commission to open the „Festwochen” in Stockerau (Austria). It is dedicated to the solist of the first performance Mr.Heinrich Huber, who is solo-trombonist in the sinfonic orchestra of Bale. The 3 parts CAPRICCE, SIZILIANA, BURLESKE show the different characters of the solo-instrument. So the first one sets great store by the technical experience of the solist, the second part shows the lyrical and the third part the rhythmical-bold aspect of the trombone. The whole composition is written in a moderate-modern style, Both, musicans and audience therefore never are overtaxed to understand this work. Please play the accompaniment not to loud. The solist always should be able to play with a beautyful, rich tone without forcing his sound intensy. It is possible to make performances without oboe, bassoon, bass-clarinet and saxophones.
