Vorwort
Im ersten Teil des Stückes lausche man gespannt einem musikalischen
Streitgespräch zwischen meinen beiden älteren Freunden
Wolfgang und Ludwig: Kaum hat der sensible Wolfgang sich geäußert, unterbricht
Ludwig widersprechend, was ganz zu seiner eher ruppigen Art passt. Letztendlich
scheint Wolfgang sich zu behaupten, da fällt mir ein, dass - der Weisheit folgend
„Wenn zwei sich streiten“ – sich angeblich ein Dritter freuen soll. Weisheiten soll man
annehmen, und so übernehme ich im zweiten Teil die Rolle des Dritten in der Hoffnung,
dass Ausführende sowie Zuhörende die Freude mit mir teilen. Das Werk war ein Auftrag
von Egbert Lewark für sein Blechbläserquintett und die Mozart-Gesellschaft.

Preface
In the first part of the piece you are apt to listen intently to a musical intercourse
between my elder friends, Wolfgang and Ludwig: Hardly the sensible Wolfgang has
his outcome, my Ludwig breaks in which is more apt to his coarse time of passing.
Up to the end, Wolfgang seems to maintain, but as follows I am to say: If two are fighting,
the third is in demeanour, which intelligible means – the third is at its best. Wisdom is to
be accepted, and so I take my part in the second part of the third person in the hope of
listeners taking part in my joy of excercising and practising. Wisdoms should be accepted
and that is why I overtake the role of the third in the second part in the hope of the fact
that listeners and performers likewise will take in the scene of joy with us. This oeuvre was
in task of Egbert Lewark for his brassquintet and the company of Mozart.
